Environmental Horticulture & Design is the study and practice of creating and caring for healthy, beautiful, and sustainable landscapes.

At Foothill College, students combine plant knowledge and horticultural skills with landscape design, construction, irrigation, maintenance, and environmental stewardship - learning & practicing hands-on in our 2-acre Horticulture Lab on-campus.

Our program prepares students for careers throughout the green industry—from landscape design and construction to gardening, arboriculture, nursery management, irrigation, and environmental management—while also welcoming working professionals, career changers, and lifelong learners who want to deepen their knowledge and skills.
